2010….into 2011

So much has changed in this one year. First things first.. I now have a baby boy! He truly makes my heart go pitter patter. He has brought many moments of laughter and tears. He’s a kind old soul that just wants to smile and run! He started walking at 8 months old. But, because I’ve been so busy with Alexander and of course Isabel.. and do not forget Sarah! I’ve not had time to spend time with my lovely beads.. until recently. I’ve recently gotten everything in place to begin again my love, my craft. Let me tell you what I’ve been playing with… Beautiful miyaki seed beads. I’ve been creating French Beaded Flowers.. This is one of my first..

Something I want you to know…

As a jewelry “artist” sometimes it’s difficult to make your hands keep up with your mind. Many nights are spent with ideas bashing around in my head.. and many mornings like this morning ( up at 5 am.) are spent creating until time flys away, the baby wakes up wanting her breakfast and the phone begins. Sometimes time gets away..

Working on Etsy allows me freedom. It allows me the option of 1. listing today 2. listing tommorow or next week.

The problems ensue when things don’t get listed. When time flys so fast you forget and things get put in MY jewelry box and not yours.

I need for my readers to know this one thing. Vintagemomcreations was formed as an enjoyable venture. I do what I do because I LOVE it. I do this because it allows me to be at home with my children. It allows my creativity to bloom and be fashioned into something really cool sometimes. Now that I’ve moved more into metals with beads added I feel the world around me blooming with ideas. I need you to know that your ideas are important to me. I love to create a special something for another human. Now, as just a normal lady, I understand that sometimes it’s scary to commission an artist for a great piece of jewelry. (* It even sounds expense doesn’t it? That word commission.. ugh.. **shudder**) But honestly, come and talk to me. If I’m making pendant necklaces ( that take hours to create for $28.00~) I’m sure you and I can work out an affordable option for your special “piece” (as we like to call them in the jewelry world.)

On another note.. let’s talk about Etsy. I sell at Etsy. Etsy is the place that allows me to have my own little piece of the selling world. Here’s the link to my shop.. http://www.vintagemomcreations.etsy.com  To purchase from me on Etsy you’ll have to sign up. It’s simple. Just a few lines and you are done. If you have a paypal account set up already it’s SUPER EASY to pay me too. After you sign up for Etsy you can look on the right side of my shop and see a button that says “contact this seller” ( I think that’s what it says…  lol) Send me a note! Tell me what you are looking for and I’ll do my best to help you. ( And if I can’t.. I’ll tell you upfront honestly… I’ll also tell you how long your wait will be.. or not be. It depends on the season really.)

Let me show you some of the things in the shop?

Well, I suppose that’s all I had to say today. I hope you enjoy your Friday,

Handmade,Etsy,Life, Family, Genealogy and Me.

Some of you have asked about me. What’s Renita really like?
Just a mom? Only a wife? A stay at home mom? A Cherokee? Only another Artist?
Well, I thought I’d take a moment this morning and give just a tiny bit more information about exactly who you are dealing with when you and I are conversing over your special order.
If you look to the 1st photo you’ll see my Uncle Ken and me.  That day, we were searching for tangible genealogical proof. Yes, we are the “searchers for truth”. We are a pair, my uncle and I. As a matter of fact.. each morning we have a debate regarding the world in general… sometimes it gets pretty heated. We battle over presidential candidates and their schemes. We battle over what’s right and wrong. We talk. We think. It’s amazing don’t you think? We still love and respect each other too! He’s a huge part of me that I think you, my clients, should know about. He keeps me grounded most of the time.  AND, we have a blast finding our heritage together. The truth. We will find it even if it’s never been found.
This is my husband Adrian and youngest daughter Isabel..

Adrian and Isabel

Adrian is a wonderful father and husband and artist. I could go on for days about this man but, I won’t. I would embarrass him to no end. Bella, well.. Bella of course brought us the World of Down Syndrome. I imagine sometimes her up in Heaven talking to God. ” God, send me somewhere interesting will you?” And god saying.. ” well.. whew.. hold on, it’s going to be one heck of a ride.”
And last but not least..Look at this photo below..  Aren’t they the greatest looking kids ever??? If I ever have a moment of ” Good lord will this day never end.. I always think of these “kids” Each one person in this photo is without a doubt going to make a difference on this planet earth. I couldn’t be prouder.

My sarah  is most certainly the next greatest artist. Isabel, well she’s rockin the world with personality right now. Airman 1st Class Travis has taken over the job of “MY hero” and Kelsey, I’ve adopted in. Kelsey, with the great mind and imagination.
These four humans.. whew… Look out world!
So there you have it. My little life. Or at least a small part of it. I have photos I want to show you of my lovely Aunt Debbie. My mother who keeps hanging on no matter what. My friends that are certainly like extended family. I have been blessed with more love in this one lifetime than most ever get. I’m honored to be close to the people I’ve just showed you. And you know what’s funny? MOST of the people in this listing won’t ever see it. They are busy living life to the fullest.
And I wouldn’t want it any other way. That’s why I love them.
Now, I suppose I SHOULD get back to work. YOU might be waiting on your order…
I’m going….
Me and Isabel.. It seems SO long ago...

Me and Isabel.. It seems SO long ago...

Well… in a minute I’m going. Right now, I think I’m going to give this baby a hug. Time flies quickly as we live with no tethers.
Can I say just one last thing? This blog today happened when I was having a moment of “rush” do this.. do that.. hurry hurry hurry.. and I was watching the stock market crumble then repair and ..
sigh, you get the picture.
The whole reason I sat down was to remind myself what’s important to me.
My family is important to me. My business is important to me. YOU, my reader are important to me. And I think with the state of the world today we need to reach out to each other and share with comfort the fact that we are all part of this one world. Now, everybody.. take a deep breath and remember what’s important to you.
Many Blessings,

THE HERITAGE COLLECTION~Hometown Original Art Circleville Ohio

Heck yes I’m going to advertise this here!! My Wonderful Husband has amazed me again!!!

My husband, the artist, created this wonderful work of art history.
Drawn on a wonderful piece of wood with a built in frame. This hometown history piece was carefully woodburned. Be sure to look at the detail of this master creation in the photos I have to show.

This piece measures 21 inches tall and 14 inches wide. There will be a limited amount of these created as they are VERY time consuming. Artist will sign and date this piece for you.
Please allow a 2 week creation time before shipping. I will not put a shipping charge on this If you are going to order from outside of Circleville please contact me and I will promptly speak to you concerning shipping to your area.

History of Circleville

Circleville was unique among early American towns, built to conform to a circular prehistoric earthworks. When Pickaway County was formed in 1810 there were no existing settlements that seemed suitable for a county seat. Therefore, a new town was laid out within the ancient’s “circle” on the high bank east of the Scioto River. It’s streets radiated from an octagonal courthouse in the center of the circle.
Two communities existed near Circleville prior to its being laid out as the county seat. Jefferson and Livingston ceased to exist several years after Circleville was designated the seat of government in 1811. When the Ohio Canal reached Circleville, the shape of the town within the circle proved to be a hindrance, and in 1838 a group of enterprising businessmen began to “square the circle”. Over the next 20 years the job was accomplished and all traces of the ancient earthworks disappeared.

This is the Artist rendition of Circleville, Ohio as it appeared in the year 1836.
Original drawing by Mr. G.F. Wittich. ©1919 Edward Wittich ~The woodburning you will recieve will not match Mr. Wittich’s drawing but will be the artists rendition of Circleville in 1836. Please remember each burning will be a little different as these are not factory made.. but done by hand.. One tree and one building at a time.

Wood will be sprayed to protect it from time.

You can find this wonderful art here~
