So much has changed in this one year. First things first.. I now have a baby boy! He truly makes my heart go pitter patter. He has brought many moments of laughter and tears. Great Minds Want to know…

Is it just me or does it feel like the world bounces around on it’s axes now? Each and every day someting happens and I react “What?” “Seriously?”

The latest bounce happened here…McCain picked Sarah Palin.

She has a son in the military ( just like me) Her name is Sarah ( just like my middle daughter) and she has a child with Down Syndrome ( just like me). Ironic huh?

The only main difference is this.. She could possibly run the United States of America.

My question to you, my readers, is this.. What do YOU think? I will not tell you my party affiliation.. or my opinion at this point. Tell me what you think of all of this? Does she have what it takes?

Does He?

I really look forward to hearing what you have to say… The time is going to fly right up until November.. I hope we have one fabulous debate..

History of Circleville

Circleville was unique among early American towns, built to conform to a circular prehistoric earthworks. When Pickaway County was formed in 1810 there were no existing settlements that seemed suitable for a county seat. Therefore, a new town was laid out within the ancient’s “circle” on the high bank east of the Scioto River. It’s streets radiated from an octagonal courthouse in the center of the circle.
Two communities existed near Circleville prior to its being laid out as the county seat. Jefferson and Livingston ceased to exist several years after Circleville was designated the seat of government in 1811. When the Ohio Canal reached Circleville, the shape of the town within the circle proved to be a hindrance, and in 1838 a group of enterprising businessmen began to “square the circle”. Over the next 20 years the job was accomplished and all traces of the ancient earthworks disappeared.

This is the Artist rendition of Circleville, Ohio as it appeared in the year 1836.
Original drawing by Mr. G.F. Wittich. ©1919 Edward Wittich ~The woodburning you will recieve will not match Mr. Wittich’s drawing but will be the artists rendition of Circleville in 1836. Please remember each burning will be a little different as these are not factory made.. but done by hand.. One tree and one building at a time.

Wood will be sprayed to protect it from time.

You can find this wonderful art here~

Q:  What’s the only sign of intelligence in Ann Arbor?

A:  Columbus 186 miles

a-hit.jpg

We Ohio State fans amuse ourselves by scaring every Michigan fan we see strutting down the street with that obnoxious maze & blow “M” on his shirt. We swerve our vans as if to hit them, and then swerve back just missing them.

One day, while driving along, I saw a priest. I thought I would do a good deed so I pulled over and asked the priest, “Where are you going Father?”

“I’m going to give mass at St. Francis Church, about 2 miles down the road,” replied the priest.

“Climb in, Father! I’ll give you a lift!”

The priest climbed into the rear passenger seat, and we continued down the road.

Suddenly, I saw a Michigan fan walking down the road with that “M” shirt on, and I instinctively swerved as if to hit him. But, as usual, I swerved back into the road just in time. Even though I was certain that I had missed the guy, I still heard a loud “THUD.” Not understanding where the noise came from, I glanced in my mirrors but still didn’t see anything. I then remembered the priest and turned to him and said, “Sorry Father, I almost hit that Michigan fan.”

“That’s OK,” replied the priest, “I got him with the door.”

And Woody said…

“indomitable in victory, insufferable in defeat.”

woody-and-the-ref.jpg

In1971, Woody ran onto the field and confronted referee Jerry Markbreit and tore up sideline markers, receiving an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Hayes was furious over what he thought was a missed defensive pass interference call committed by Thom Darden of Michigan. After getting the flag, Hayes began ripping up the yard markers and throwing the first-down marker into the ground like a javelin, prompting another unsportsmanlike conduct flag.

You gotta love the Passion even if you don’t like football.

The fight song gives me tingles.. and I swear time freezes on the Rivalry Saturday here.

Songs like hang on sloopy take on a WHOLE new importance. It brings memories of wins and battles from the past. I WONDER IF THE BUCKS will do the HAKA?? Wow.. now that would be the bomb. If you don’t know what the Haka is.. go to youtube and search. It’s the most powerful show of maleness I have ever seen.

Ok.. I’ve rambled enough.. But one more for the road??

Four college alumni were climbing a mountain one day: an Ohio State grad, a Michigan grad, a Penn State grad, and a Notre Dame grad. Each proclaimed to be the most loyal of all fans at their alma mater. As they climbed higher, they argued as to which one of them was the most loyal of all. They continued to argue all the way up the mountain, and finally as they reached the top, the Notre Dame grad hurled himself off the mountain, shouting “This is for the Fighting Irish!” as he fell to his doom. Not wanting to be out done, the Penn State grad threw himself off the mountain proclaiming, “This is for the Nittany Lions!” Seeing this the OSU grad walked over and shouted “This is for the Buckeyes!” and pushed the Wolverine off the side of the mountain.
